Professional musicians have partnered with the Hearing Foundation of Canada to bring awareness about avoidable hearing loss to schools. The iHearYa! school event has Grade 9 students celebrating their ability to enjoy sounds while teaching the safe way to do so.
Combining live music and multimedia into a 45- minute presentation, iHearYa! goes all the way into your ear and back to show you how you can keep your hearing in good working condition so you can keep grooving to the music.
Where we go
In May 2009 the first three iHearYa! school assemblies took place in Ontario with help from the Ontario Trillium Foundation and the Hear the World Foundation.
Here’s what some of the teachers and students attending iHearYa! had to say:

Next year we’re hoping iHearYa! gets taken on the road across Ontario. Please tell your principal and teachers about iHearYa! and invite us to your school. If we hear about you, we’ll try to come see you.
For more information, contact Gael Hannan at gdhannan@hearingfoundation.ca
Tell me why you want iHearYa! to come be heard at your school.
What does the program look like?
